Zusammenfassung: | A power plant using a gas turbine for power generation and a method for reducing carbon dioxide emission are provided to substantially reduce the volume flows to be treated as compared with the atmospheric process by separating carbon dioxide at a predetermined pressure. A method of generating energy in a power plant(10) having a gas turbine(12) comprises the steps of generating flue gas from the gas turbine. The gas turbine includes a compression section(13), a combustion section(18) and an expander(21). The compression section has at least two stages including a low-pressure compressor(14) and a high-pressure compressor(16). The combustion section is fluidly coupled to the compression section. The expander section is fluidly coupled to the combustion section. The flue gas is re-circulated into the low-pressure compressor. A portion of the compressed recirculation flue gas is diverted to a carbon dioxide separator(36) and a remaining portion is diverted into the high-pressure compressor. Carbon dioxide is separated from the diverted portion in the carbon dioxide separator to generate carbon dioxide lean gas. The remaining portion of the recirculated fuel gas is fed to the high-pressure compressor. |
