Zusammenfassung:	An additive for a non-aqueous electrolyte is provided to form a more dense and stable solid electrolyte interface layer on the surface of an anode, thereby imparting improved capacity maintenance and lifespan characteristics to a battery. An additive is added to a non-aqueous electrolyte for a secondary battery containing an electrolyte salt and an electrolyte solvent, and is a compound having both a sulfonate group and a cyclic carbonate group. The compound forms two kinds of radicals via electrical reduction and a solid electrolyte interface layer is formed on the surface of an anode via the polymerization of the radicals. The sulfonate group and the cyclic carbonate group are linked to each other by way of a C1-C6 alkylene group.
