ROBOT TO DISPLAY A MOVIE USING MOTION DETECTION AND METHOD THEREOF

A robot for displaying a video by using motion detection and a method thereof are provided to compare the posture of a character in the video and the posture of a user with a simple procedure, notify the user of a comparison result, and enable the user to check whether an education program is performed to some degree through sound effects or points, thereby enabling the user to have a higher degree of absorption and satisfaction about the education program. An image camera(105) photographs the image of a user continuously, and an image output unit(103) executes and displays a video. A posture comparing unit(104) compares the posture of the user with the posture of a character in the video. A control unit(106) controls components. The posture comparing unit compares difference image information, which is obtained from still images photographed by the image camera, and the silhouette information of each frame in the video executed in the image output unit according to the control signal of the control unit. A degree of accordance between the posture of the user and the posture of the video character is determined. A determined result is outputted to the user.
