DISPLAY APPARATUS INCLUDING OPTICAL MODULATOR AND IMAGE CONTROLLING METHOD

A display device having an optical modulator and an image controlling method thereof are provided to compensate for an error of a displayed gray scale due to an operation characteristic of a micro mirror by using a simple logic. A display device includes an optical modulator(220), a driving IC(225), a scanner(230), and an image control circuit(250). The optical modulator changes an intensity of an inlet beam according to a driving voltage, and outputs a modulated beam. The driving IC provides the driving voltage according to an image control signal to the optical modulator. The scanner projects the modulated beam on a predetermined position of a screen. The image control circuit generates the image control signal, for an effect of a driving characteristic of the optical modulator on the input image signal to be minimized, and outputs the image control signal.
