INVERTER

An inverter (1,1') having one or more phases, comprising:-a first and a second DC capacitor (Cl, C2), which may be supplied by a photovoltaic generator (30), constituting an intermediate DC circuit (2,2'), whereby the common connection point of the DC capacitors represents a common earth connection (8), and-at least one subcircuit (12) for generating one phase of an AC voltage at an AC node (16), each subcircuit comprising:-a series connection of a first and second power switch (Sl, S2),-a series connection of a first and second auxiliary switch (S3,S4). In case of a three-phase AC voltage, a star-star connected transformer (32) is attached to the output of the inverter (1'), the inverter being configured to produce phase voltages, comprising each a wave of fundamental frequency and a wave of third harmonic frequency, across the secondary coil of the transformer.
