Zusammenfassung:	The disclosed invention relates to additives for use in, such as, battery pastes and in polymers. The additive is the reaction product of sulphuric acid, water and leady oxide. The additive may be used in a mixture of sulphuric acid, water and leady oxide to produce a modified battery paste that, when pasted onto battery plates, yields plates of improved performance. The additive also may be used as a stabilizer for chlorine containing polymers such as polyvinyl chloride.
