DETACHABLE AUDIO MODULE AND MEDIA PLAYER INCLUDING THE SAME

A detachable audio module and a reproducing device having the same are provided to reproduce an audio signal by receiving the audio signal and a control signal through a cable when the detachable audio module is attached to a body and through wireless communication when the audio module is not attached to the body. A reproducing device comprises a detachable audio module(200) and a body. The detachable audio module receives and reproduces an audio signal. The body is connected to the detachable audio module to deliver the audio signal and a control signal to the audio module. The audio signal is reproduced by receiving the audio signal and the control signal by wire or wireless method according to contact between the audio module and the body. The contact between the body of the reproducing device and the detachable audio module is switched from the wire method into the wireless method at the same time as the detachable audio module is separated from the body. The detachable audio module includes an audio module control unit(210), an amplifying unit(230), a wire/wireless interface unit(220), and a power source unit(240). The audio module control unit decodes the received audio signal. The amplifying unit amplifies and outputs the decoded audio signal. The wire/wireless interface unit is connected to the body of the reproducing device by the wire and wireless methods. The power source unit supplies power to the control unit, the amplifying unit, and the wire/wireless interface unit.
