APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DOWNLOADING OR TRANSMITTING DATA UNDER THE CONDITION OF BATTERY POWER DEFICIT IN PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A device and a method for transceiving data urgently in shortage of battery power of a portable electronic device are provided to transceive the transceived data maximally by performing only the function needed for transceiving the data through power management when the battery power of the portable electronic device is short while transceiving the data. A remaining battery power detector(130) detects remainder of a mounted battery. A CPU(100) performs control for supplying the battery power to only the components related to data transceiving in an emergency power management mode when the detected remainder of the battery is lower than a reference level. A communicating module(160) transceives the data with an external device by receiving a data transceiving control right from the CPU in the emergency power management mode. A memory(150) stores the data transceived by the communicating module. The components related to data transceiving are the communicating module and the memory.
