A roof rack for a vehicle comprises side bars and cross bars. The side bars are mounted on a roof panel in parallel to each other. The cross bars are installed between both side bars. The section of the cross bar is formed like a streamlined ellipse and the thickness of the section of the cross bar ranges within 55 to 75mm.
