METHOD FOR OFFERING PROGRAM GUIDE OF DIGITAL TELEVISION

A method for providing a program guide in a digital TV is provided to search for and display a genre related to a present channel, thereby allowing a viewer to receive a concerned program guide without additional genre selection. It is determined if program guide provision for each concerned channel is selected(S30). The genre of present broadcast is determined if the program guide providing item is selected(S40). The item of a received program guide is formed according to the determined genre(S50). The program guide is displayed according to the formed program guide item(S60). The item of the program guide includes a film item, a dram item, a sports item, a habit item, a children item, an animation item, a home shopping item, an education item, or a game item.
