Zusammenfassung:	A liquid crystal display and a backlight unit are provided to minimize inequality of brightness in a display picture by arranging many light emitting devices at an area having low brightness while arranging light emitting devices at the minimum at an area having high brightness. A liquid crystal panel(110) includes a plurality of driving chips(120). A backlight unit has groups of light sources(100) to correspond to an area where the plurality of driving chips are formed. The backlight unit includes a plurality of light emitting devices(10) emitting lights, wherein the plurality of light emitting devices is aligned at predetermined gaps for forming the groups of light sources. The groups of light sources are arranged at an area of which brightness is unequal to compensate the brightness.
