SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICE FOR CALLER SERVING METHOD AND HOME LOCATION REGISTER FOR THE METHOD

A method for providing a value added service for a calling subscriber and an HLR(Home Location Register) used in the same are provided to prevent unnecessary occupation of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) and relay line resources by passing through a value added service management server for the calling subscriber only in case that a callee side terminal can not cope with a call connection request from a caller side terminal. A method for providing a value added service for a calling subscriber comprises the following several steps. An HLR receives a call connection signal of a caller side terminal transmitted through an MSC(S300). The HLR sends a call connection message toward a callee side terminal(S301). The HLR receives a response to the send call connection message(S302). The HLR checks a state of the callee side terminal on the basis of the response to the call connection message(S303). In case that the terminal of the callee side is in a call connectable state, the HLR forwards the received response to the MSC and proceeds a call connection between the callee side terminal and the caller side terminal(S307,S308). In case that the callee side terminal is not in a call connectable state, the HLR sends the received response to the MSC and provides a value added service for the calling subscriber(S304-S306).
