QUERY MATCHING METHOD AND SYSTEM USING CATEGORY MATCHING

A method and a system for matching a query by using category matching are provided to perform correct query matching within a category by preferentially performing automatic matching of an original query before the matching of a query is performed. A category matcher(901) matches the category of an original query. A first searcher(902) searches a first search result in the matched category of a database by using a first query excluding a space or a special character from the original query. A second searcher(902) searches a second search result in the matched category of the database by dividing the original query into a plurality of words based on the space, and using a word comprising one or more than two of alphabets, numbers, and the special characters among the words as the query if the number of first search results is smaller than a reference value. A third searcher(903) searches a third search result in the matched category of the database by using the word, which is started by the alphabet, is finished by the alphabet or the number, and includes more than one number, as the third query if a sum of the number of first and second search results is smaller than the reference value. An output part(904) outputs at least one of the first, second, and third search result as the total search result matched with the raw query.
