Zusammenfassung:A mobile terminal and a character input method using the same are provided to variably expand existing buttons by combining a sensor to a button input and to improve utility of character input by discriminating basic character or expanding character in shortly inputting key at once. A keypad(110) inputs characters. A sensor(120) senses slope of a terminal. A memory(140) stores a pre-set slope table value. A processor(130) compares the slope sensed by the sensor(120) and the table value stored in the memory, and determines a character according to the comparison result.
