Zusammenfassung:	A camera module is provided to enhance the positioning accuracy of a solid image pickup element and a lens and heighten photographing quality. An image pickup element(5) converts a beam inputted to an image pickup region into an electric signal, and outputs the converted electric signal. The image pickup element(5) is fixed to one side surface of a cover glass(9), and a beam from the other side surface of the cover glass(9) is transmitted as the beam inputted to the image pickup region. A lens(7) condenses the incident beam on the image pickup region. An FPC(Flexible Printed Circuit) board(3) maintains the cover glass(9), and receives the electric signal outputted from the image pickup element(5). A pedestal(2) contains the lens(7) and the cover glass(9). The other side surface of the cover glass(9) different from the surface to which the image pickup element(5) is faced to an internal part of a pedestal mount so that the lens(7) and the image pickup element(5) are positioned.
