Zusammenfassung:	A method and an apparatus for mechanically bonding material webs are provided to be used in manufacturing absorption products and garment by using at least two material webs to be mechanically connected to each other. A method for mechanically bonding material webs includes the steps of: arranging a first material web(23) and a second material web(25) to be opposite to each other along at least connection part of the first and the second material webs; transferring the first and the second material webs which are opposite to a nip of a connection device, wherein the connection device has a first connection member(31) and a second connection member(33) which define a nip which penetrates the first and the second material webs to a machine direction; adapting a shear force from the nip, which is formed between the first connection member and the second connection member, to the first and the second material webs in a machine direction; and mechanically connecting the first and the second material webs in the nip while the shear force is adapted to the first and the second material webs.
