Zusammenfassung:	A colored composition is provided to reduce observable defects on coating film when applied to a spin coating method or die coating method, and to produce a good quality of color filters by forming a filter segment and/or black matrix with almost invisible film defects. The colored composition contains a colorant carrier consisting of a transparent resin, a precursor thereof, or a mixture thereof, a colorant, an organic solvent, and a surface tension-adjusting agent. According to a Wilhelmy plate method, when a glass plate 22mm wide, 22mm long, and 0.145mm high is dipped in the colored composition to a depth of 2.5mm in such a direction that one side of the glass plate is perpendicular to the liquid surface of the composition, force A(at 25°C) measured when the glass plate is stationary is 1.16mN or more, and force A' and force B(measured at 25°C) satisfy the following relation of 0.08
