Zusammenfassung:	A mold for further increasing cooling uniformity of castings to obtain higher casting output and improved casting quality and reduce stress within mold walls is provided. In a mold for continuous metal casting which is provided with cooling grooves(2) formed on at least one partial region of the outer surface of the mold, the mold is characterized in that depths and/or widths of the cooling grooves(2a,2b,2c) are greatest in the middle of sidewalls of a mold pipe(1), and the depths and/or the widths of the cooling grooves(2a,2b,2c) decrease in the direction of edge regions(4) of the sidewalls such that a uniform heat dissipation can be implemented to enable higher casting speeds to be obtained. The cooling grooves are not disposed within a distance of 10 mm to 15 mm from radiuses of the edge regions of the sidewalls.
