Zusammenfassung:	A reader-writer and a reader-writer communication method are provided to avoid a null state by weakening a carrier wave which the reader-writer deals with in case of detecting null generation. In a reader-writer(10), an antenna(11) transmits a carrier wave having a predetermined frequency. The antenna(11) receives the carrier wave and a synthetic wave of a signal into which the carrier wave is modulated. The synthetic wave is transmitted from a wireless communication terminal. A demodulation part demodulates the synthetic wave received form the antenna(11). A determining part determines whether detection of a modulated component is difficult or not when the wireless communication terminal approaches. A carrier controller reduces a carrier component inputted to the demodulation part if the determining part determines that the detection of the modulated component is difficult.
