PROGRAMMABLE GAMMA COMPENSATION CIRCUIT USING LOOK-UP TABLE

A programmable gamma compensation circuit using a look-up table is provided to compensate for a color displayed on a display device by varying a gamma value according to the operation characteristics of a display panel. A programmable gamma compensation circuit using a look-up table converts input digital RGB data into arbitrary data and includes a buffer(221), a controller(222), and an LUT(Look-Up Table,223). The buffer receives predetermined digital RGB data. The controller determines the contrast level of the digital RGB data from the buffer and outputs different control signals according to the contrast levels. The LUT changes the digital RGB data corresponding to the control signal and outputs the result.
