GOVERNOR FOR AN ELEVATOR WITH TWO-WAY BRAKING FUNCTION

A bidirectional governor for an elevator is provided to strike a limit switch accurately and securely by seesawing a pendulum in rotating a rope pulley with adjusting tension of a spring, and to decrease the weight and the size of a weight by mounting the weight with leverage. A regulating unit(200) has a transfer hole formed in an upper part of a front plate, a limit bar installed on a pendulum, transferred right and left and inserted to the transfer hole, a limit switch installed to the transfer hole to strike the limit bar with the pendulum, and a tension adjuster regulating tension by adjusting length of a spring. A vibration damping unit(300) has an adjusting hole formed in an upper part of a support plate installed in a guide rail(G), a lever plate rotated and installed to the support plate and a lower rope pulley and attached to a weight(W), and a link plate mounted between the adjusting hole and the lever plate and moved in the adjusting hole. The tension adjuster includes plural installation holes, a tension guide plate having plural pin holes integrated with the installation holes, a fixing pin fastening the tension guide plate, and the spring mounted between the tension guide plate and the pendulum.
