An image forming system and an image forming method are provided to automatically print an updated file by determining whether to update the print with the least information without information directly representing the update of the file. An information manager(110) periodically receives the files(54) and file ID information from a web server(50), and stores the file/file ID information to a memory(120). An update determiner(130) determines the update of the file by comparing whether the received file ID information is matched with the file ID information previously stored in the memory. A printing controller(140) transmits the updated file to an image forming device(200) and makes the image forming device perform printing on the basis of the printing data of the updated file. A location information setting part(152) enables a user to preset location information of a webpage(52) matched with the file. The information manager requests the web server to transmit the file/file ID information matched with the webpage on the basis of the location information.
