Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method and a device for the production of flat glass, comprising the continuous flotation of molten glass (1) on a molten metal bath (5) in a float installation, whereby the float glass gradually forms a moving ribbon on said metal bath without having any fixed point in the installation. For said purpose, molten metal can be poured at points (6) which can be fixed points and, in particular, at the most upstream float point located on the longitudinal axis of the bath. The glass can be a glass-ceramic precursor glass. According to the invention, it is possible to produce large glass-ceramic plates, greater than 75 cm, as well as very fine plates, thinner than 3 mm.
