Zusammenfassung:A governor for an elevator is provided to prevent an abrupt moving of the elevator by promptly controlling an emergency braker. A governor for an elevator includes a fly weight(21), a trip mechanism, a latch wheel(30), an overspeed switch(50), an upper switch operation lever(51), and a lower switch operation lever(52). The fly weight is pivotally mounted to one side of a governor wheel so as to be pivoted by the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the governor wheel. The trip mechanism is engaged with one side of the governor wheel so as to be rotated by the fly weight. An upward latch gear and a downward latch gear are formed along the circumferential direction of the latch wheel. The overspeed switch applies a control signal to the braking mechanism of the elevator. The upper and lower switch operation levers operate the overspeed switch in opposite directions.
