Zusammenfassung:	In a backlight assembly and a display device having the same, the backlight assembly includes a receiving container, a light source, a reflecting member and an optical member. The receiving container includes a bottom plate and a sidewall protruded from a side of the bottom plate. The light source is received in the receiving container. The light source generates light. The reflecting member is interposed between the bottom plate and the light source. The reflecting member has a protruded portion protruded upward to support the light source. The optical member is on the light source to improve optical characteristics of the light generated from the light source.
