POSITION TRACKING METHOD OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL, ESPECIALLY CONCERNED WITH DIRECTLY TRACKING A CURRENT POSITION OF A LOST MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH A PROVIDER SERVICE

PURPOSE: A position tracking method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a terminal to convert into a GPS function mode if a call is received, so that the terminal can perceive a self current position by interworking with plural GPS satellites while informing of the perceived position information as voice data, thereby simply supplying a position tracking service to a user without accessing the GPS satellites. CONSTITUTION: An MIN(Mobile Identification Number) of a terminal is generated(S30). If a current position of the terminal should be perceived, the generated MIN is transmitted to a base station by using a number button and a send button comprised on the terminal(S32). The base station analyzes the received number to perceive MIN information on the terminal if the analyzed number is used for position tracking, and transmits a signal which requests a GPS function mode to be performed through a control channel to the terminal having the perceived MIN information(S34,S36,S38,S40). The terminal perceives a self current position, and retransmits the current position information to the base station(S42,S44,S46). The base station converts the position information into voice data, and sends the voice data to a terminal subscriber(S48,S50).
