AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM FOR WINDING OPTICAL FIBER, AND ITS AUTOMATIC WINDING METHOD

PURPOSE: Provided are an automatic control system for winding an optical fiber and a method for automatically winding an optical fiber by using the system, to prevent the inferior winding of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: The automatic control system comprises a pay-off part(10) provided with a certain spool where the optical fiber drawn from a preform is wound; a take-up part(20) provided with a PT (proof test) spool(21) which draws the optical fiber wound to the spool of the pay-off part to measure tension at a certain tension measuring part and re-winds it; a velocity feedback part which measures the winding velocity of the optical fiber wound to the PT spool of the take-up part; a take-up dancer(22) which measures the tension of an optical fiber between the take-up part and the tension measuring part; a traverse part(30) which reciprocates to the length direction on the PT spool to guide the optical fiber for allowing the optical fiber to be wound uniformly to the outer circumference of the PT spool; and a control part(50) which compares the take-up velocity change amount of the optical fiber with the pre-set velocity change amount by using the feedback velocity signal, and controls the operation of the traverse part to remove an inferior winding if it is determined there is an inferior winding on the PT spool.
