Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A lamp driving apparatus and a lamp driving method are provided to reduce the number of driver circuits for driving a plurality of lamps, by using selection circuits for alternately driving lamps during a predetermined cycle. CONSTITUTION: A lamp driving apparatus comprises a plurality of lamps(1121 to 112n); a plurality of inverters(1501 to 150m) for supplying high voltage AC waveforms to the lamps; and a plurality of selection circuits(1601 to 160m) for alternately connecting the lamps to the respective inverters during a predetermined cycle. Each of the inverters includes an AC converting circuit, a transformer, a driving frequency generator, a switching controller, and a feedback circuit.
