METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SEARCHING PATHS CAPABLE OF REDUCING SEARCHING TIME

PURPOSE: A method and a system for searching paths capable of reducing searching time are provided to reduce searching time and system load by using a layer related to road information. CONSTITUTION: Road information and a layer is maintained in a digital map database(101). The road information corresponding to roads and the layer related to the road information determined by a predetermined standard are maintained in the map database. A first path is searched within a first distance from a departure based on the road information related to a first layer set including at least one layer(103). A second path is searched based on the road information related to a second layer set including at least one layer(104). A third path is searched within a second distance from a destination based on the road information related to a third layer set including at least one layer(105). A path from the departure to the destination is generated using the first, second, and third paths(106).
