APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR LINEARIZING NON-LINEAR TRANSMISSION SYSTEM TO COMPENSATE NON-LINEAR CHARACTERISTIC FOR EACH OPERATION RANGE OF THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM USING MULTIPLE LOOK-UP TABLES

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for linearizing a non-linear transmission system are provided to prevent deterioration of system performance due to a change of operation range of the system by arranging multiple look-up tables corresponding to operation ranges of the system and selecting a look-up table corresponding to a specific operation range. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for linearizing a non-linear transmission system includes multiple look-up tables(130), an operation point calculator(110), a look-up table selector(120), and an indexing unit(140). The multiple look-up tables store compensation values to be used for linear distortion of an input signal for operation points of the system. The operation point calculator receives information about an operation point to calculate the operation point. The look-up table selector selects and activates the look-up table corresponding to the calculated operation point. The indexing unit indexes the compensation values in the activated look-up table in response to the level of the input signal.
