Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A piston supporting structure for a displacement variable swash plate type compressor is provided to minimize the friction resistance between pistons and a housing when the pistons carry out rectilinear reciprocation by the rotation of a swash plate, thereby preventing the damage of parts and the driving overload. CONSTITUTION: A piston supporting structure for a displacement variable swash plate type compressor includes rolling elements rolling in association with the rolling of pistons(10) by the rotation of a swash plate, wherein the rolling elements contact inner wall surface parts of a front housing(2) while rolling, and the inner wall surface parts correspond to both wing parts(10c) of the respective pistons. The rolling elements are to be needle bearings(20) rotating in positions in response to the contact between the wing parts of the piston. The needle bearings are rotatably inserted into mounting grooves(2b), the mounting grooves being formed to the housing at positions corresponding to the wing parts of the pistons. The needle bearings are partially protruded beyond the inner surface of the housing to contact the pistons.
