Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide a lithium phosphate crystal having excellent processability and suitable as a raw material for producing a functional inorganic material, particularly for LiMPO4 (M is at least one metal element selected from Fe, Mn, Co, Ni and Al), which is used as a positive material of a lithium secondary battery, a method for industrially and advantageously producing the crystal in a high yield and a method for producing a lithium/iron/phosphorus-based complex oxide using the crystal. CONSTITUTION: The lithium phosphate crystal is composed of fine primary particles as aggregates, has an average particle size of 1 to 10 μm and has an angle of repose of less than 50°. The lithium phosphate crystal has a half value width of a diffraction peak in a lattice plane (010plane) obtained by an X-ray diffraction analysis of >=0.20°. The lithium phosphate crystal is prepared by adding an aqueous solution containing a phosphoric acid to an aqueous solution containing 4-6 wt.% of lithium hydroxide and then performing an reaction at a temperature of less than 70 deg.C.
