Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: A hybrid network device having a VPN(Virtual Private Network) function and a WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) function is provided to include a VPN module for performing the function of a VPN hardware accelerator in a WLAN module for performing the function of a WLAN, thereby performing both WLAN function and VPN function with the one hybrid network device. CONSTITUTION: A host interface module(105) is connected to a VPN module(102) and a WLAN module(104) through two local buses(112,114), and routes data packets transmitted from a host to the VPN module(102) or the WLAN module(104) according to an address. The VPN module(102) receives the data packets, stores them in an input buffer located therein to perform a VPN algorithm for the stored data packets, and then transmits the data packets to the host through an output buffer located therein while storing packet information in a specific register located therein. The WLAN module(104), which includes hardware such as a MAC(Media Access Control) controller, a BBP(Based Band Processor), and an RF(Radio Frequency) system, receives the data packets, stores them in an input buffer located therein to perform a WLAN algorithm, and then transmits the stored data packets to the host through an output buffer located therein. |
