METHOD FOR DISPLAYING SHARPNESS OF IMAGE IN PORTABLE TERMINAL HAVING CAMERA - THE METHOD INCLUDES A STEP FOR COMPARING THE SHARPNESS OF AN IMAGE INPUTTED FROM A CAMERA WITH A REFERENCE VALUE OF SHARPNESS

PURPOSE: A method for displaying the sharpness of an image in a portable terminal having a camera is provided to compare a calculated sharpness with a reference value, and to display the sharpness of a displayed image according to compared results, so that a user can find an exact photographed position. CONSTITUTION: When a photographing mode is selected, a controller receives an image from a camera(201). The controller controls an image processor to obtain DCT coefficients from the inputted image(203). The controller controls the image processor to calculate sharpness from the obtained DCT coefficients(205). The controller compares the calculated sharpness with a reference value of sharpness(207). If the calculated sharpness is bigger than or equal to the reference value, the controller controls the first or the second display unit to inform a user that the image is clear(209). The controller displays the sharpness of the image(215).
