Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: Provided is a composition which comprises, as an active ingredient, the extract of Prunella vulgaris having monoamine oxidase(MAO)-inhibiting activity. The composition prevents and treats MAO associated diseases, as well as relieves stress and fatigue. CONSTITUTION: Monoamine oxidase(MAO)-inhibitor is characterized by containing the extract of Prunella vulgaris, preventing or treating MAO associated diseases, as well as relieving stress and fatigue. The crude extract of Prunella vulgaris is obtained by using a polar solvent, such as water, ethanol, methanol and the like or a mixed solvent thereof. Also, the nonpolar solvent soluble extract of Prunella vulgaris is obtained by using a nonpolar solvent, such as chloroform, ethylacetate, hexane or dichloromethane.
