Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to form an alignment mark recognizable by an edge grinding apparatus or a polarizer attachment apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An LCD(400) includes a light-shielding layer(120), the first substrate(100), the second substrate(200), and a liquid crystal layer. The light-shielding layer covers the edge of the first liquid crystal display area(115) formed on the first transparent substrate. The first substrate includes the first alignment mark(130) formed by removing a portion of the light-shielding layer. The second substrate includes the second liquid crystal display area formed on the second transparent substrate(220), which is opposite to the first liquid crystal display area. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates.
