Meandering flow powered activated charcoal contactor with paneled barriers

PURPOSE: Provided is a powdered activated carbon contact tank with a plurality of barriers which are arranged in zigzag, which is capable of increasing mixing efficiency of powdered activated carbon and making flow of wastewater uniform by using the barriers. CONSTITUTION: The activated carbon contact tank comprises barriers(14,14'), each having an upper and a lower frame(16), and a plurality of panels(15) fixed to the upper frame and the lower frame(16) at both ends thereof, wherein the panels(15) are laterally distanced from each other so water passes through the gap(18) formed between the panels(15), and wherein the panels(15) and gap(18) are alternatively arranged for different barriers(14,14') so zigzagged water passage is formed. 본 발명은 정수장에서 물과 분말활성탄의 균일한 혼화 및 충분한 접촉시간을 확보하여 원수내의 이취(異臭), 이미(異味) 및 용존유기물등을 흡착제거하는 것을 목적으로 하는 분말활성탄 접촉조의 수처리효율을 향상시키기 위한 것으로, 종래의 격벽(baffle wall)을 설치하는 대신 조립식 판넬을 이용하여 제작된 여러개의 분할형 배리어(barrier)를 지그재그로 설치하여 균일하고 안정된 유체의 흐름을 유도하고 분말활성탄과의 혼합효율을 향상시키고자 하는 구조이다. 본 발명은 조립식 판넬을 사용하므로 종래의 기술에 비해 훨씬 경제적이고, 설치가 용이하며 필요시 비교적 손쉬운 방법으로 기존 접촉조의 구조개선이 가능한 구조로서 전산유체해석 (CFD)과 같은 3차원 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용하여 부지(敷地)의 형상이나 용량을 고려한 최적의 구조를 설계할 수 있으며, 신규로 건설되는 정수장뿐만 아니라, 기존 운영중인 정수장에 적용하여 분말활성탄 접촉조의 효율개선을 이룰 수 있도록 한다.
