Billing and accounting Method in the internet access service

PURPOSE: A use charge accounting method in an Internet connection service is provided to demand the use charge levied to a subscriber by a measured rate system scheme. CONSTITUTION: If a subscriber terminal requests access, a client requests authentication about a subscriber to a server. If the server transmits an authentication success message to the client, the client transmits an accounting start request packet to the server. If the client senses a use end state of the subscriber terminal, the client transmits an accounting end request packet to the server. The server extracts accounting elements for a measured rate system from the accounting start request packet and the accounting end request packet(S32). The server generates user-classified measured rate information using the extracted accounting elements(S34,S36). The server applies a predetermined charge rate to measured rate information, and generates measured rate system accounting data(S38). 본 발명은 인터넷 접속 서비스에서 가입자에게 부과하는 이용요금을 가입자의 사용량에 따른 종량제 방식으로 청구할 수 있도록 하는 과금 방법에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 발명은, 가입자 단말기에게 인터넷 접속 서비스를 제공하는 RADIUS 프로토콜 기반의 클라이언트와 상기 클라이언트의 요청에 따라 상기 가입자에 대한 인증절차와 어카운팅 절차를 행하는 서버로 구성된 인터넷 접속 서비스 시스템에서의 이용요금 과금방법에 있어서, 상기 가입자 단말기가 액세스를 요청하면, 상기 클라이언트가 상기 서버로 상기 가입자에 대한 인증을 요청하는 제1과정; 상기 서버가 상기 클라이언트로 인증성공메시지가 전송하면, 상기 클라이언트가 상기 서버로 어카운팅 시작 요구 패킷을 전송하는 제2과정; 상기 클라이언트가 상기 가입자 단말기의 사용종료상태가 감지되면 상기 서버로 어카운팅 종료 요구 패킷을 전송하는 제3과정; 및 상기 어카운팅 시작 요구 패킷과 상기 어카운팅 종료 요구 패킷을 이용하여 사용자별 종량제 과금데이터를 생성하는 제4과정을 포함하여 이루어진 것을 특징으로 한다.
