PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL TEST SYSTEM AND TEST METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An inspection system of a plasma display panel is provided to test synthetically an image defect, a voltage margin, a color coordinates, and a brightness of a PDP using a digital camera. CONSTITUTION: An inspection system of a plasma display panel comprises a driving unit(30) connected to a plasma display panel(70) and for driving the panel, a pattern generation unit(20) connected to the driving unit and generating a pattern for outputting a fixed pattern at an effective display region of the panel, a camera(50) photoing an image signal displayed at the effective display region of the panel by inputting an outputted pattern from the pattern generation unit to the panel, and a computer(60) receiving the image signal photoed by the camera and inspecting a pixel degradation defect and dividing a class of the pixel degradation defect and storing and displaying. The panel and the camera are arranged inside a darkroom(80). 본 발명은 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널 검사 시스템 및 이를 이용한 검사 방법에 대하여 개시한다. 본 발명의 패널 검사 방법은, 패턴 발생부로부터 출력된 패턴을 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널에 인가하여 상기 패널의 유효 표시영역에 표시되는 영상신호를 암실에 위치한 카메라로 촬영하고, 상기 카메라로 촬영된 영상신호를 컴퓨터로 받아 화상 불량 결함을 검사하고 구분하며, 최적 전압 마진을 결정하여 저장, 표시한다. 따라서, 본 발명의 PDP 패널 검사 시스템 및 검사 방법에 따르면 화상 결함뿐만 아니라 최적 전압 마진, 색좌표, 휘도 및 색온도 측정이 모두 자동으로 이루어지므로 검사의 속도를 높임과 동시에 검사의 신뢰도를 높임으로써 생산성을 향상시키는 효과가 있다.
