METHOD FOR ADJUSTING COLOR SATURATION OF RGB COLOR SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for adjusting color saturation of an RGB color system is provided to reduce an amount of operation by removing necessity of converting RGB signals into YUV signals, thereby reducing the complexity of hardware. CONSTITUTION: An RGB color sample vector is obtained, wherein the RGB color sample vector represents color pixels of an inputted image obtained from RGB video signals. A white and color divider(22) decomposes an input color vector into a white vector and a color tone vector. A multiplier(24) multiplies the color tone vector by a saturation adjusting parameter for obtaining a saturation-adjusted color tone vector. A vector adder(26) adds the white vector to the saturation-adjusted color tone vector for obtaining a saturation-adjusted RGB color sample vector. Color pixels of an output image are represented by using the saturation-adjusted RGB color sample vector.
