Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A method for detecting an amount of ink remaining in an ink tank and an apparatus for performing the same are provided to automatically and easily detect the amount of ink by installing a light emitting section and a light receiving section in opposition to each other about a flange of an ink tank. CONSTITUTION: A clamp(13) is provided to cover a flange(8) of an ink tank(6). The clamp(13) has a light emitting section(14) and a light receiving section(15). The light emitting section(14) is installed at one side of the clamp(13) and the light receiving section(15) is installed at the other side of the clamp(13) in opposition to the light emitting section(14) about the flange(8). The flange(8) is formed with a perforated hole(12). The perforated hole(12) has a rectangular shape. In order to install the light emitting section(14) and the light receiving section(15), a flange(10) is provided at an outer body(7). 카트리지의 잉크 잔량 검출방법 및 이를 실시하기 위한 검출장치가 개시된다. 개시된 카트리지의 잉크 잔량 검출방법은, 잉크탱크의 상부의 수직 이동을 탐지함으로써 수행된다. 이러한 잉크 잔량 검출방법은 잉크의 유출에 따라 탄성 변형하여 내부의 부압을 유지하는 아치 형상의 잉크탱크를 구비한 카트리지에서 실시될 수 있다. 상기 잉크 잔량 검출방법을 실시를 위한 검출장치는, 잉크 잔량을 시각에 의한 탐지하거나 또는 자동화하여 탐지할 수 있도록 구성된다.
