Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: An apparatus for sensing traffic information by using a GPS(Global Positioning System) and a method for sensing traffic information by using the same are provided to obtain efficiently the traffic information and reduce the administrative and maintenance expenses by using a client concept and a sever concept. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for sensing traffic information by using a GPS includes a telematics device(100) and a traffic control server. The telematics device(100) includes a GPS receiver(110), an A/D converter(120), a time controller(130), a position database(140), a position storage portion(150), a traffic information conversion portion(160), a communication control portion(170), a navigation system(180), and a telematics control portion(190). The GPS receiver(110) receives a position signal from a GPS(200). The A/D converter(120) converts a speed signal to a digital signal. The time controller(130) supplies a time signal of the telematics device(100). The position database(140) stores position data and map data. The position storage portion(150) stores position ID information. The traffic information conversion portion(160) converts the traffic information. The communication control portion(170) receives or transmits the converted traffic information from or to the traffic control server. The navigation system(180) guides a traveling path by using the traffic information. The telematics control portion(190) controls a display device(181), an input device(183), a map database(182). The traffic control server includes a communication control portion(310), a transmission selection control signal generation portion(311), a traffic information conversion portion(320), a local latitude/longitude information storage portion(330), a vehicle position management portion(340), a traffic information pattern storage portion(341), a traffic information management storage portion(370), a vehicle management portion(360), a map database(350), a server control portion(380), and an input/output device(390).
