APPARATUS FOR GUIDING OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A light guiding device for a liquid crystal display device is provided to remove the reflection plate and reduce the weight of an LCD module by overlapping two plates with a space therebetween, the plates being coated with a reflection material by a predetermined patterns. CONSTITUTION: A light guiding device for a liquid crystal display device includes a lower plate(110), and an upper plate(130) facing the lower plate at a predetermined distance, for guiding light provided via a light incident part from light sources at both sides of the device to a light projecting part. The upper and lower plates have first and second reflection parts(120,140) formed of a full reflection material having a reflectivity higher than 90% at surfaces facing to each other. The second reflection part has predetermined aperture parts for the transmission of the light by a predetermined pattern. 반사판을 일체로 구비하고, 경감된 무게를 갖는 액정 표시 장치의 도광 장치를 개시한다. 하부 플레이트는 입사부를 통해 입사되는 광을 반사하는 제1 반사부를 구비하고, 상부 플레이트는 하부 플레이트의 제1 반사부에 대향하는 일면에 일정 패턴으로 형성된 제2 반사부를 구비하여 일정 간격을 통해 하부 플레이트와 일체화되며, 하부 플레이트와 플레이트과의 일정 공극을 통해 입사부로부터 제공되는 광을 가이드하여 출사부로 출력한다. 이에 따라, 액정 표시 장치의 도광 장치를 상부 플레이트와 하부 플레이트의 얇은 플레이트로 구성할 수 있기 때문에 도광 장치의 무게를 경감시킬 수 있고, 도광 장치를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 전체 무게를 줄일 수 있다.
