The Flat Type C-CRT

PURPOSE: A flat cathode ray tube is provided to prevent cracks at the corner of rail by adjusting the width of panel joint of rail and cutting curvature of corner of rail. CONSTITUTION: A flat cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is arranged; a funnel connected to the panel; a shadow mask spaced apart from the phosphor screen formed on the inner surface of the panel, and which discriminates colors; and a rail attached to the inner surface of the panel so as to fix and support the shadow mask. The rail is step-shaped, and has a panel contacting surface where a groove is formed in the direction extending the rail. The rail has a panel joint which is divided into an inner joint and an outer joint by the groove. The relation between the inner joint and the outer joint satisfies the expression of inner joint width/outer joint width < 1. 본 발명은 평면브라운관에 관한 것으로, 특히 레일의 패널 접합부의 폭 및 레일 코너부의 절단 곡률을 조절함으로써 레일의 코너부에서의 크랙 발생을 방지하는 평면 브라운관에 관한 것으로, 상기 레일은 계단형상으로 상기 패널과 접하는 면에 상기 레일의 연장방향으로 홈부가 형성되어 있으며, 상기 레일의 패널 접합부는 상기 홈부에 의해 내측 접합부와 외측 접합부로 구분되며, 상기 내측 접합부 폭과 외측 접합부 폭의 관계가 하기 식을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 내측 접합부 폭 / 외측 접합부 폭 < 1 본 발명의 레일 구조는 홈부의 체적 증가로 패널에 작용하는 응력이 분산될 수 있도록 함으로써 패널의 크랙 발생을 방지하는 효과가 있다.
