Plasma display panel device having a test function

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel device provided with a test function is provided to protect the device of the plasma display panel set so as to test the operation of the plasma display panel set without the pattern generator and the image board and to operate at a safe mode when the control signal of the control block is abnormal. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel device provided with a test function includes a signal generator(32) for outputting a predetermined pattern previously stored, a clock generator(31) for generating a module operational clock signal, a checking block(33) for outputting the control signal based on whether or not the external clock signal is inputted by checking whether or not the clock signal is inputted from the external image board, an input signal selection block(37) for selectively outputting the signals of the external image board inputted from the signal generator(32) in response to the control signal of the clock signal checking block(33) and a control block(35) for controlling so as to drive the plasma display panel in response to the output signal of the input signal selection block(37). 본 발명은 테스트 기능을 갖는 플라즈마 표시장치에 관한 것이다. 제어부는 입력되는 영상신호에 따라 플라즈마 표시 패널을 구동하도록 제어한다. 구동부는 상기 제어부의 출력신호를 처리하여 상기 플라즈마 표시 패널에 데이터를 표시한다. 신호 생성기는 미리 저장된 소정의 패턴을 출력한다. 클럭 발생기는 모듈 동작용 클럭 신호를 발생시킨다. 체크부는 외부의 영상 보드로부터의 클럭신호 입력유무를 체크하여, 외부 클럭신호 입력유무에 따라 제어신호를 출력하며, 상기 제어부로부터 상기 구동부로 출력되는 신호를 체크하고, 체크된 신호가 비정상적이라고 판단되면 상기 제어부가 안전모드로 동작하도록 한다. 입력신호 선택부는 상기 클럭신호 체크부의 제어신호에 따라 상기 신호 생성기로부터의 입력되는 신호와 외부의 영상보드의 신호를 선택적으로 제어부에 출력한다. 이렇게 함으로써, 패턴 제너레이터와 영상보드 없이도 플라즈마 표시 패널 세트의 동작을 테스트 할 수 있고, 제어부의 제어신호에 이상이 있으면 안전모드로 동작하도록 하여 플라즈마 표시 패널 세트의 소자를 보호할 수 있다.
