Aqueous Ethanolic Extract of the Skin of Onion for Decreasing or Maintaining Body Weight and a Method for Preparing the Same

PURPOSE: A process of preparing an onion skin extract capable of maintaining or reducing a body weight by suppressing fat absorption using quercetin as flavonoid contained richly in the skin of onion is provided. Therefore, the extract is effective for treatment of overweight or obesity. CONSTITUTION: The skin of onion is ground and extracted 5 to 50 times with 10 to 95% ethanol. The extract is centrifuged at 5,000 to 20,000rpm, filtered with a filter paper having a hole size of 0.5μm and subjected to ultrafiltration with a 30 to 200 kDa ultrafiltration membrane. Thereafter, the filtrate is concentrated with a reverse osmosis with a salt rejection rate of 45 to 100% or under reduced pressure. The concentrate with an ethanol content of 10 to 30% is spray-dried with hot air at 170 to 250deg.C or concentrated. 본 발명은 체중감소 또는 체중유지용 양파껍질 추출물 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 양파껍질을 수용성 에탄올로 추출하여 그 추출물로부터 비가열처리에 의하여 정제되는, 체중감소 또는 체중유지 활성을 갖는 추출물로 이루어지며, 본 발명에 따른 양파껍질 추출물은 체중감소 또는 체중유지 활성이 우수하여 과체중 및 비만 치료에 효과가 있다.
