Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A swash plate type compressor is provided to protect a face surface of a cylinder and to smooth operation of a swash plate axis. CONSTITUTION: A protecting member(40) integrally having a race part(41) and a bearing part(42) with an anti-rotation device comprising at least one anti-rotation protrusion(42a) or at least one anti-rotation groove to prevent rotation of the protecting member so as to prevent abrasion of a face surface(51) of a cylinder block(50) and damage of a thrust bearing(30) is inserted between the thrust bearing and the face surface of the cylinder block. The thrust bearing, a large race(20) and the protecting member absorb compression force to make a swash plate axis(10) rotate smoothly.
