Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A discharge lamp and a glow starter are provided to increase the service life of the discharge lamp by permitting the capsule to promote the starting of the discharge lamp and preventing consumption of the radioactive gas. CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp(10) comprises a first electrode(11), which is the direct current negative electrode or a cathode, a second electrode(12), which is the direct current positive electrode or an anode, a filling gas(13), which is neon or argon, and lit at low pressure under the effect of an electric voltage between the two electrodes, a glass peripheral wall(14), which is covered with a fluorescent coating in the case of a fluorescent lamp, and a capsule(15), containing a radioactive gas, wherein the capsulate has a wall which is transparent to the radioactive radiation in order to facilitate starting of the discharge lamp by ionization of the filling gas, while consumption of the radioactive gas which the lamp contains is prevented. 본 발명은 방전 램프를 점등하기 위해 방사성 가스를 함유하는 방전 램프에 관한 것이다. 방사성 가스는 캡슐내에 봉해지며, 상기 캡슐의 벽은 방사선을 투과시킨다. 따라서, 캡슐은 방전 램프의 점등을 촉진시키며, 동시에 방사성 가스가 캡슐의 밀봉된 벽에 의해 충전 가스로부터 격리되기 때문에 상기 캡슐이 함유하는 방사성 가스의 소모를 방지한다. 따라서, 방전 램프의 사용 수명이 증가된다.
