METHOD FOR MANAGING VIDEO DATA OF DIGITAL SIGNAL RECORDING/PRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A method for managing video data of a digital signal recording/producing device is provided to effectively use a storing space by rapidly removing an unnecessary scene from a recordable media, in which video data is stored. CONSTITUTION: A method for managing video data of a digital signal recording/producing device includes the steps of setting a data area for storing video data of each scene when video signal is recorded in a recordable media, setting and recording an index area for storing index information, such as the scene number of each scene, intra-frame(I-frame) data of each scene, and I-frame number information. When video data is removed from the video data stored in the recordable media, the method for managing video data includes the steps of searching only I-frame stored in the index area at a high speed, designating a part to be removed from the I-frame, reading the number, I-frame start number, and I-frame end number of the designated part, and removing all video data of the designated scene.
