Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A solenoid assembly is provided improve a cost-effectiveness, a reliability and transient voltage protection by operating at various voltages, accept remote commands and report a status over the Internet. CONSTITUTION: A module(22) is connected to a solenoid(20). The module(22) includes a communication device(90) electrically connected to the Internet(92). The module(22) is also electrically connected to a microprocessor(94). The microprocessor(94) interfaces with program(96) and is electrically connected to Hall effect device, a memory(98) and a communications device(90). The term microprocessor, as used herein, refers to microcontrollers, CPUs, reduced instruction set circuits(RISC), application specific integrated controllers(ASICs), logic circuits, and any other circuit or processor capable of interfacing with the memory and executing a series of instructions or software programs. 보호 하우징(protective housing) 내에 넣어진 통합 모듈(22)은 ATS(Automatic Transfer Switch)(10) 또는 광 접촉기(lighting contactor)를 원격으로 조작하는 솔레노이드(solenoid)(20)에 전기 및 기계적으로 접속된다. 모듈은 전파 브리지 정류기(full-wave bridge rectifier)(42), 과도 전압 보호 회로(transient voltage protection circuitry)(44), 솔레노이드의 플런저(plunger)(58) 위치를 결정하기 위한 근접 검출기(proximity detector), 솔레노이드를 프레임에 부착시키기 위한 탑재 스트랩(mouning strap)을 포함한다. 또한, 모듈은 플러그인 장치(plug-in device)(74)로서 다양한 저항값을 받아들여 라인 전압을 감소시키고, 인터넷(92)에 접속을 위한 통신 장치/모뎀(90)을 통합한다. 모듈은 솔레노이드 코일을 통한 고정 전압이 가능하게 하며, 솔레노이드가 다양한 동작 전압에 접속되도록 한다.
